Visionen der Medienkunst 2

THE COSMOS IN TELE-VISION - Fakes and facts from the program industrie

Ausstellung|Visionen der Medienkunst | 12. 04. 2013 - 22. 04. 2013

opening hours: Fr, Sa, Mo 14 - 18 Uhr

opening: 10.4.2013 19 Uhr & Vortrag von Univ. Prof. Dr. Christian Schulte
curator: alien productions, Gerda Lampalzer

“Reality is not divided into news (facts) and entertainment (fakes), even if the television (and film) industries have for half a century been acting like it was. There are no facts without fictions, no actualities without emotions.” (Alexander Kluge)

2013 is the second year that FLUSS has realized, in collaboration with Medienwerkstatt Vienna, an exhibition project where historical programmatic writings and ideas are juxtaposed with current artistic positions. The sequel of this collaboration about utopian approaches in media art is rooted in the theoretical ideas of German author, filmmaker and TV producer Alexander Kluge (“The power of emotions”). From this starting point, the media artists Isabella Bordoni, Manu Luksch & Mukul Patel, work on a contemporary implementation of his concepts. In parallel to the exhibition and to a public lecture at Medienwerkstatt, a film program about Alexander Kluge will be featured in Filmhaus am Spittelberg (9. 4. 2013, 21:30).
